GWU CLASS OF 2009!

I'm attending george washington in the fall but soon we have to sign up for house preferences and I have NO IDEA. I'm not really the "party" type (not that I'm a nun or anything, but I prefer hanging out with friends or going out somewhere instead of the huge party thing) so I've pretty much taken Thurston off the list. So far I'm considering Potomac (although it's hard to gauge its "personality," it looks like it'll be nice and social but not assss social as Thurston), but I've also heard good things about Fulbright. In addition, I got into the Honors program, so I'm not sure if I want to live in THAT dorm... it looks a little tooo much for me, but it's still a consideration. so, if you could share your dorm wisdom, what the dorms are like, which ones are good, etc, that would be fabulous! thanks.

I'd personally say thurston. Like I was debating between Thurston and HOVA...because of my mistake, I wound up in Thurston. I was really upset because I thought it was going to be a HUGE party. Honestly, it's not, at all. Yea, parties go on but that happens everywhere. My boyfriend used to live in HOVA and I would be over there and it was MUCH noisier than Thurston ever is, like to the point that it was obnoxious. There were always people in the halls running around/making noise being obnoxious, even at night, Thurston, you know when the parties are, so you expect it to be noisy but otherwise, it's pretty calm. I don't know what Potomac will be like, it's only like half a block from Thurston but still, there's something about living in Thurston that I believe is part of the GW experience. As for Fullbright/Laffyete...My roomates boyfriend always used to be over here since he hated it so much. But don't worry, if you end up some place you hate, you can always switch rooms.
